What a neat city! We didn't have a great first impression, since the taxi that took us from the train station to the hostel tried to charge us the equivalent of $120 for a 7 minute cab ride in the Romanian currency (we ended up paying 10 euros which was like 5x too much anyways but better than 100!) Fortunately, things only improved from there, and we had only positive experiences with cab ...

      Timisoara in the rain

A travel blog entry by kvstark on May 04, 2014

... but definitely raining. The up side to this was that I got to test out the rain cover for my pack, which I hadn’t used yet. Good news – it works GREAT. So that’s one less thing to worry about. The bad news is, it was raining. And with gusts of wind every once in a while that made my umbrella pretty unhappy.

After mass I went and headed once more towards the bus station. It was nice being able to go to mass with such perfect timing ...
