... heeft naast het bekende 'Teatro Amazonas' weinig aan de toerist te bieden. Wel zijn er leuke uitstapkes naar rustig gelegen plekken langs de Amazone waar inheemse stammen met veel plezier een danske voor ons deden.
De tocht naar 'Manaus' op de 'Amazone' was hard, vuil en vermoeiend maar tegelijk ook mooi en onvergetelijk. Het was een aparte ervaring die ik niet had willen missen.

Although we never saw any sloths or monkeys (my students who came a day later did) paddling deep into the mangroves was amazing. The fauna and flora, and the width and depth of the river is amazing. We saw grey dolphins, parrots, vultures and incredibly colorful butterflies.
