... but a bit bigger. Part way along is the Magere Bridge, or the skinny bridge as the locals call it. There is a story it was built by two rich sisters in 1691 who lived on either side of the river and were either too busy or unable to walk the long way round to visit each other so built a bridge across the river, but did not make it the usual width for general use. It was difficult for many to comprehend that this was the actual workplace of Mr. Frank, they thought it was a replica but it was chilling as we walked behind the same bookcase that concealed the family years ago. Walking the halls of the house you could hear a pin drop – everyone was engulfed in the story as they walked from room to room. I really would like to read her Diary before I ...

... catching up with us and the sleep deprived nature of the tour had us feeling a little lethargic.  But still, nothing was going to ruin Christmas Day.  This was the beginning of a very different Christmas Day than we are used to.  The first thing to point out was that the weather had completely turned. The day we were to experience would be fine and sunny. Sure the mercury would struggle to make it to double digits and the breeze was a little stiff, ...
