... impossible! For some reason this place has barely any restaurants and any we did see were so expensive. In desperation we split up to check out different streets. Oh yes, so back to the search for "Comfortable Shoes." As it turns out size 28 is the largest size most Japanese stores carrry. This roughly translates to 28cm or size 11. As I wear size 12 which would be 30.5cm here, we haven't yet found anything that will fit. As it turns out the weather is kind of rainy and gray and it doesn't take much to talk Erika into a rest day. We dine on Ramen a block from our hotel and call it a night pretty early. WE DID: - caught the train from Okayama to Fukuyama and dumped our bags at the hotel, a 5 min walk from the station - caught a train to Onomichi, wandered along the dock and caught the ferry (after deciphering the kanji) to Ikuchi-jima - a kind man led us to the bike hire and we hired some electric bikes and cycled part way round the island, before stopping off at a restaurant on the beach for lunch - Kosanji : our favourite temple so ...
