How things can change!! We stopped in at the Tourist Info centre to talk to someone about nice places to stay on our way to Cologne. In the course of the conversation this lovely girl mentioned how wonderful Berlin was and we just knew we couldn't miss it!! Jumped in the car and began the 4 hour journey on the Autobahn. It all went very smoothly but there were a number of road works ...

schinkenspek, a few fresh bananas and some bread for Andy and we were sorted, as
well as the customary travelling Haribo lollies!

Next were bedrooms, dressing rooms and link rooms, all with pottery/glassware/medals/coins of the various periods. Much of the glassware was Venetian and was sourced by Queen ...

... Christina duly arrived and we walked down to inspect the swimming pond; the brochure said it had water from the site's own well, with natural plants to avoid algae. However the algae seemed to have circumvented those regenerating plants as the water was a little too green for our liking and with the presence of quite a few baby newts, we decided not to bother! We did dabble our feet in though, before enjoying a nice bbq and a good ...
