    ... 10AM PST. With all of our stuff, we decided a taxi made a lot more sense than transit, and that way we were more likely to catch the earlier ferry we wanted to.     ... just once or twice a year.
    Heading down, I came across a really nice area, where there was a gold Buddha and also red ribbons with Chinese symbols on them tied around the branches of the trees; I assume they were wishes. I wish I could read Mandarin. I walked on and managed to find my way off the main path and onto little paths through the forest that were totally secluded. It was awesome, and I spent a good few hours wandering, hearing only birdsong ...

    ... are sweating and it doesn't relent till well after 10pm. You can see groups of locals hopping from door way to doorway down the high street as they try to get a cool blast from the air conditioners. I have been told it hasn't rained for 3 months now, and everyone is praying for a shower. We got to the hotel and met with Ed and Ollie.     ... appeared to be hundreds and hundreds of little gold drawers. Most had pictures attached and some Chinese writing. I'm not sure, but I think it is some kind of tribute to the dead or even some sort of graveyard. People were walking up some nearby steps with bunches of flowers; although I was curious, I had the feeling I shouldn't be there, so I went back to the main temple area (seeing some lovely Bonsai trees on the way).
