We liked Konya as far as a big..not Hugh...but big Turkish city goes...THIS one did not have that chaotic feel to it. I made the mistake of thinking the Dervishes were whirling nightly. NOT. Darn! This morning we arrived at Turkey. It was a really tough trip though. The plane should have left at 6pm but it was 7h late so it left at 1am. So we sat and did nothing and was just really bored at Arlanda for 7h.

... that made it easy to imagine its former glory days. Partly because it was a new type of ruin and partly because it had some of the best preserved marble columns in the city, Uncle Albert and I's favorite ruin was the nymphaeum. The nymphaeum was basically the remains of a gigantic, tri-storied water fountain dedicated to a nymph. It was very different and a nice change of pace.
