I gave him, I took him back into the hostel so they could interpret - he was concerned that there wouldn't be any trains left running at this time of night (I shoulda showed him the ticket duh) - I'm sure there was a tear in his eye at the stonking 14rmb tip and he appeared reluctant to accept it! The train station (one of four) put heathrow's terminal five to shame.

Arriving in Luang Nam Tha at the end of the day we decided to head for a guesthouse we found in the Lonely Planet which seemed to be cheap and clean. The French couple and American decided to have a look at that hotel aswel so on we went. The hotel turned out to be 5 EUR per night, including own bathroom with toilet and hot shower and it even had a fan! Bingo :D.
