      ... a) because although i had read they were well looked after i just wasnt sure what i would find and b) i wasn't sure i would even find the place

      anyway - i managed to get there and wow - i enjoyed it SO much more than i ever thought i would!!

      ... I gave him, I took him back into the hostel so they could interpret - he was concerned that there wouldn't be any trains left running at this time of night (I shoulda showed him the ticket duh) - I'm sure there was a tear in his eye at the stonking 14rmb tip and he appeared reluctant to accept it! The train station (one of four) put heathrow's terminal five to shame.

      ... lunch - tasty!

      Arriving in Luang Nam Tha at the end of the day we decided to head for a guesthouse we found in the Lonely Planet which seemed to be cheap and clean. The French couple and American decided to have a look at that hotel aswel so on we went. The hotel turned out to be 5 EUR per night, including own bathroom with toilet and hot shower and it even had a fan! Bingo :D.
