She told me they encourage the students to struggle and find their way and don't allow learning aides to be used or given out in class. This meant no multiplication tables!     ... her apartment where I will be staying for the first week.

    Though I couldn't see much on the cab ride to her apartment since it was still dark, we happened to pass some big festival that people were still celebrating at 6am (!!!) and saw a huge fish-shaped office building.

    I am excited to explore the city later this weekend and start work on Monday!
