... tomorrow there will be 8000 cyclists riding up here in a cancer fundraiser. Our hotel starts serving them breakfast from 2.45am and they ride up and down the legendary road as often as they can all day. Yes, that's right...UP and DOWN, repeatedly! It is a Dutch event called the Alpe de Huzes and last year raised €30M. The challenge is 6 ascents and descents. Last year someone cracked 9!

The chapel is about 400 years old and has 20 baroque frescoes on the inside walls, that tell the story of Saint Grat and the vision he had of the severed head of John the Baptist. It was ...

... huge boom to shift the loose snow. So, until the all clear, only the lower slopes were open with the result that all the lifts were congested with long queues. Anyway, we got going once the tops slopes were open and Sophie, Anna and I headed to the highest peak in the 3 Valleys, Point du Bouchet, at 3230m. Some of the skiing was hard going as there were tricky moguls to navigate but it was worth the effort for the beautiful views ...
