Hiked a crazy river trail in the morning, made Rainy Pass at 5 pm and were driven in to a wonderful world. The World of the Waylands. Thanks so much guys, too kind. We will return to trail tomorrow morning and start our final approach to the finish line. Another 60.77 miles and we will reach a monument on a border. It is such a unique feeling to see the conclusion of something you have been working towards for so long. We have done it. We are doing it. We are ...

... time of this trip. The next morning (this morning) I finally reached Lindsey. Her phone had died Saturday leaving us out of touch until she could get a charge. Normally in a situation like this we would trust trail karma to do them justice, but I took matters into my own hands the next morning. I made so much noise breaking camp at 6am to wake a hibernating bear. 9/5/2014 28 miles (2528.5) These are by far the hardest days of my ...

... game on big screen. Housekeeping, a movie and bed. Short drive on Friday although with sightseeing it took most of the day. Stayed at Soap Lake, Washington, a comfortable but road noisy campground, pool and hot tub which Donna and Barb frequented. Soap lake is highly mineralized and attracts visitors worldwide for it's healing properties. There is an area where you can wallow in the mud for extra therapeutic value. Unfortunately we did not stay long ...
