... a few week early for that. Just out of town is the main ski resort of the town, we went up there to see if there were any good views of the local mountains. There were some good views, but the highlight was watching Adam fall face first into the snow whilst trying to jump over a tiny ditch. Best of all was I caught the whole thing on video, that’s £250 from You’ve Been Framed!
That night we went for dinner at a tiny restaurant in town ...

This little town ranks right up there with our favourites. We looked at buying property here two years ago, but since the folks fron Calgary have discovered it , prices have gone thru the roof. what used to be $15000 ten years ago is more like $500000 now, crazy.
... was crazy you could see right across the Rockies for miles and miles truly breath taking.
On another day off Patricia took me for a hike to Cliff Lake and again amazing views and a glacier lake which we both jumped into, my god it was proper cold.
it was a real shame to leave the ranch as i could of stayed a while longer, aah well this is one place i would to come back to and i am sure i will.. cheers Trish...
Crossed the Rockies, left Jasper National Park behind as we travel through the Kootenay region, past Fort Steele and stop at Cranbrook. Hope the truck is ready as promised tomorrow, we will drive to Kalispell once more and re-visit Eureka MT on the way. What gorgeous weather we have been granted!
The next morning we had to leave this area of the Rockies and make our way down to our Dude ranch
across the border in Idaho. We drove out of the National Park but before leaving we stopped at the Paint Pots and took a walk to see where the Indians used to collect the iron ore for their painting of teepees and facial paint. The Iron ore is pushed to the surface so there are three large pools of terracotta colour. The indians only used what was necessary, making it into ...
... up tents, and had our first shower in a week. Couldn't wipe the smile of my face. Hot water is such a treat on a trip like this. We got up at the crack of sparrows **** and here we are in Fernie. Seven years ago I lived here for the winter season and to see it in summer is awesome. We are having a rest day and staying in the hostel. Free pancakes and coffee for breaky.
Our high carb diet of noodles, pasta, porridge, fruits and nuts is doing a ...
... passes to ride two of the local mountain. Alas, it was not to be. Without jobs or a home in Canada, the very anal boarder guards would not let us into the US as we could not prove intent to return. As I write now I am very calm. I certainly was anything but at the time!! So we had to come up with an alternative plan, and after a big of investigation we decided on living in Nelson and riding at Whitewater mountain.
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada nikieandjames... peaks stretched along the horizon. Labouring breathlessly up the ascents, I envied those among the knots of motorcyclists that passed by intermittently, effortlessly leaving me in their wake. The descents, I enjoyed while they lasted - but they never seemed long enough. On arrival at Longview (pop. 300) I came upon a large crowd of leather-clad bikers gathered in the forecourt of a gas station. I dismounted, wiped the sweat from my brow and wheeled my bicycle past the ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada fintanThere has not been much to report during the last few weeks, I never thought I would say it but I am glad to be finally working. There is only so much to do and see in a small town with a limited budget and no transportation. We have become experts in Fooz ball (Christian picked up a table for free). Ange has recently returned from New York, It is good to have another girl in the house ...
Fernie, Canada christian-ro... hotsprings. Very relaxed but a bit to unnatural. After that I got a short ride to Kaslo, I was not planning to stay here but I am glad a did. Kaslo ROCKS! Best place in Canada so far I can see that Jessica & I will set up our international organic brew restaurant/gallery over a couple of years!! I met some great people, they offered me a place to stay.
