Ennis, is a beautiful little town, its famous for its trout fishing. The Madison river runs thru the town and the Ruby River is in the next valley. Brent fished the Ruby in the morning and the Madison in the evening. Jo visited the nearby cowboy towns of Nevada City and Virginia city, these little towns are amazing, we hope to come back next year.
Ennis, Montana, United States brentandjoMy dad and I (Darren) drove to Big Sky, Montana to go flyfishing for Dad's retirement trip (and also to give Kristi a much-needed break from me). We drove through Bozeman so I could drop off the Stroh's beer bounty for my friend Tom Starner who had graciously set us up with a room at the Summit at Big Sky Resort. Many thanks, Tom! Along the way, we also stopped at as many fly shops as possible to try to figure out what was working and not working ...

*** Happy Two-Week Anniversary of Being on the Road!!! :) :) :)
Today we got another late start and it was raining (is anyone else seeing a pattern here???), so we decided not to finish our Yellowstone sightseeing and instead drive back up the highway a bit to the ski town of Big Sky, Montana. The ski resort looks really large and they seem to ...
Nice little town, got some gas station food from under heat lamp. Chris has jalapenos, I had a burrito. Sat on curb across street looking down mainstreet with snow capped mountains in background.
Check out this photo from yesterday! Bald eagles!
Big Sky, Took a very rough and bumpy flight to Bozeman. Rented a little ****** foreign car (Suburu) that wouldnt stop buzzing and chiming at me. Next morning we woke up and drove down to BS in the snow. From what I could see Montana was exactly as I pictured it, Mountainous and wild. We had virgin snow under our boards for the first few runs on blues (all off Swift Current lift). I dropped my phone while going down my first black of the day (Mad Wolf) but ...
Big Sky, Montana, United States lawrenceporterFriday 25th July We decided that we would stay one more night here. Although our tank of water was getting low, we had access to a spring which was right next to our RV. We knew, from talking to a Nat. Forest employee that it was safe to drink so we used that for drinking and cooking and also for pouring into the toilet for flushing! That way we were able to stay put until the black water filled up the tank and we had to move. We had also been asked to go and have ...
Big Sky, Montana, United States manningnzThursday 24th July We woke to a beautiful clear blue sky and wonderful peace and quiet. After a shower and clean up we did some jobs on the RV. I cleaned out the fridge, Steve fixed one of the dinette seats, a draw that wasn't opening that well and we hung up our pictures. We then went for a big bike ride up the road along the river. It is so beautiful here, surrounded by the ...
Big Sky, Montana, United States manningnz... about 90 minutes give or take 10 minutes either side. They write the expected times on a board and simply wait for the crowds to gather on the vast expanse of specially provided seats and then woosh off it goes as predicted! They don't put soap down it, it is all natural. After it was over we listened to a ranger talk about the geyser and she told us that although it is the world's most famous geyser, it is not the most ...
E obviamente ...
Big sky, Montana, United States ulisses_rio... were flagged down by a couple of bikers who were from Texas and asked us for some tools and jumper cables for their dying Harley (1,500 mile ride w/o a toolkit? Rookies). That was the first and only time we were acknowledged by a biker in our two days there, although Chris felt as if he had bonded with the biker community. Aug 9 (Day 100) Keystone, SD We headed out early to Mt. Rushmore, and our location in Keystone made it very easy as it was a 5 minute drive from our ...
