While traveling through Ontario, today, we saw one moose, one black bear then a mother moose and two calves and then another moose! They were all safely away from the highway. Too fast for us to get a picture of though. More beautiful scenery of rugged rock cliffs and big lakes. We decided to take the more northern route on Highway #11. It's a little shorter and a lot quicker. Another long travel day puts us over halfway there! We're staying in Cochrane, ON ...

Happy Star Wars Day! "May the 4th be with you!" A more leisurely start to the day with a walk on the shore of Lake Superior & of course with a Ontario Tim's coffee in hand. Silence. Utter silence. ...

... a wonderful lunch of BLTs (bacon is the best thing ever!) and local pie. The boys got to play for a few hours, including slug hunting, sand, water and balloon play (oh and the boys wasn't David and Andrew, but Fynn and Robbie....although Andrew was looking longingly at the balloons).

We got to our first overnight location of Chutes Provincial Park by 4:30pm. When we went to make dinner we realized we were missing ...

... sight memorable even without digital proof.

Kathy treated me to one of her sachets of hot chocolate before trying to explain her PhD on the saturation of water into soil and how compacted land is once it’s been trodden on by numerous cows, but the combination of the two set me off yawning far too frequently to afford a late night, and we bid goodnight, wishing the train journey could go on for just a little longer. From one adventure to the next I must go though. ...
