... could give us 10% discount. But still way over our budget we went in search of a different hotel. About 45 minutes later we were back at the first hotel, not having found anything cheaper. However when we went to check in, the 10% discount price they had given us was just for a one person room, and for two of us it was a lot more money. They will cruise up the coast, sleeping every night on beaches and in local villages. Eco tourism. Sounds interesting. I might try that. I say goodnight to them and wish them well. Funny though, I never knew their names, nor them, mine. During the night, John is trying to convince me to hire a bangkas to go snorkelling with him. Sounds too much like a date to me. ...

... Philippino people who were travelling for a few days. They told me that if the ferry was going to go to the "other dock" we could share their ride to get there. So, when we heard where the boat was coming to, we hopped in "their" truck and were transported across the island (again) to the "broken" dock, which incidentally was only five minutes from our hotel!! When we got to the other pier, we were actually third in line for tickets. ...
