We went to St.Gilgen first which is a little town on a lake, it was very small but we walked around anyway. I'm sure the view from there would have been amazing if we could see it a bit better! We didn't stay for long, the snowflakes were more like big lumps of snow and it ...

I'm planning my travels and going to ensure I get the best prices

I've volunteered to help at the London Comedy Film Festival in January. I am very excited about this opportunity, more excited then I've been in a while. We drove to Seekirchen am Wallersee which is a town on a lake about 20 minutes from where we ...

... Archbishops that used to live in the Fortress. Each of them had their emblem displayed in their portrait, as well as their name. For one of them the emblem was a turnip. The audioguide informed us that this was because as a young man his uncle felt his head wasn't straight enough and threw a turnip at his face to try and fix it. The other story was that his family were vegetable farmers and this is why he chose a turnip. ...

      Guten morgen from Austria

Today we had our earliest start of the whole trip - checking out at 5am to catch a train to Austria.
Tijo had given us tips on how to detect if someone was trying to rip you off, and sure enough our taxi driver was trying to rip us off. A short taxi trip should be no more than 250 Czech crowns and this is what the hostel confirmed the cost would be. Yet once the driver packed our bags into the taxi, he said that price was 350 Czech crowns for 4 people or more. Karen told him ...
