... The lake was lovely today. The further out you go the clearer the water it was lovely and warm towards the surface and cool but not cold underneath. It was very easy to swim in no current no waves no salt I reckon given enough time I could swim the whole lake but it would take while I don't think you could rush anything here! ... before visiting the house which unfortunatley is only now used as a restaurant rather than a museum. However in saying that, we really enjoyed sitting in the beer garden eating lunch with a wonderful view.
Our two and half hours at Eagles Nest flew and we could have spent longer exploring the mountains however we were keen to cross the border into Austria and return to our favourite city, Salzburg.

... we had forgotten about--another "no photos allowed" place. Since "our" castle is both smaller and closer to town, we got done early, so wandered down the back way, enjoying the Alpensee lake. We bravely took an outside table at the end of the road and shared apple strudel while enjoying hot chocolate. As we finished, the rest of the group began coming into view. We took advantage of the lovely restaurant restrooms, and boarded the bus as happy campers.

about Salzburg is that they have a television channel that plays a loop of the
Sound of Music 24/7. Which meant whenever we were in the room at the NH Salzburg City we usually had that playing (or German dubbed versions of Christmas movies and Sister Act
