... learned a lot from the sommelier. We tasted the wine first, then tried with different foods to see how it changed. Paul decided that Sauvignon Blanc would be the prefect wine with a cheeseburger since it went well with both the steak and the cheese. We give Mike and Sara kudos for hanging in there and trying all the wines since they don't really like wine. It seems the more wine Mike tries, the more confirmation he ...

We also drove out to a place called Rum Point, which was shallow water for a stretch of about 200metres so we walked all the way out and the water only came up to our chest. It also had a 150metre long Pier, which had a cute little hut and boats docked at the end of it who were stopping of for lunch and a swim.

... explored, and when in season, there are lobsters to be caught and grilled on the BBQ. Are you hungry yet? When we want that touristy time we just head on down to Rum Point (a short drive down the road) for a float in the sea with a bucket of beer (or Cayman Lemonade- a very refreshing cocktail)

I could go on and on about the area, but you really should see it for yourselves.

I've been to HELL and back

... top of the Island, South Sound is at the opposite end (length ways) , then you have Seven Mile Beach and opposite that is North Sound (Width Ways.) So it is about 2 miles from the house to Seven Mile Beach and 2 miles walk to the North Sound side.

We have had some good rain showers this week but warm rain think the lowest the temperature has gone down to is about 75f!

... and the charismatic French pilot soon got the nerves settled as we rose high above the airport and veered towards the coast line. The first thing you notice about the waters around the island is how crystal clear they are and beautiful shades of blue seem to melt into one another. From the sky you quickly realise how small the island actually is when you can see all 40 odd kilometres of it. The islands coast line differs vastly from ragged iron-shore to mangroves ...

... We have moved back around near Georgetown so we are back in touch with people and shops. We are also back in touch with the rocking and the rolling on board as there has been a sea swell opposing the wind all week. One night we slept across the bed the other way so we wouldn't be tossing so much. We would have left by now but the various spare parts we have ordered have all arrived missing items. So we renewed our visas (for the tidy sum of $60 each - outrageous) and ...

Could I be happier that I'm not going to Nassau? Got to my gate. Put on my headphones and flipped on my iPod. Opened my laptop and cruised the internet for a bit. Older gentleman sits down right next to me and starts reading the paper. At some point I take off the head phones to listen to a gate ...

... Zahir, Tazmin, Hur, and the Chinese lady/daughter on the tender to shore.  Hoping to do a beginner's scuba tour, but there weren't any being offered at the port.  The best chance was to take a taxi to the beach and try there.    Hopped into a taxi for Seven Mile Beach - sat with a family and chatted with the dad.  He owned an electronics manufacturing company - you know Koss, and other cheap electronics sold at Wal-Mart and places like that?  This guy ...

Our last spring break!

This was the last college spring break for both of us, since James graduated in May 2006 and I finished that December. We went (just the two of us this time!) to my favorite Caribbean island, Grand Cayman, and enjoyed beautiful Seven Mile Beach, fantastic scuba diving, and the perennial favorite, Stingray City!
