... and dry moats surrounding the Old Fortress are renowned for repelling countless Turkish invasions.
We also toured the British-built Church of St. George located within the fortress walls with stunning views of the sea.
After leaving the Old Fortress, we re-enter the Esplanade where we saw the famous cricket pitch, a favorite leftover exercise from the British occupation, located on ...
... after this maybe I should be careful what I wish for! After deciding against going to Gjirokaster in the same day because of the heat, the driver spent the whole of the journey basically telling me how Gjirokaster was like heaven on earth, while the passengers in the back found great enjoyment on wagering weather I would be persuaded or not! He did take a break in his sales pitch to tell me about how the stretch of road we were on has many casualties because drivers ...
... have been toga wizards, I’ve no idea how they managed to make them look like proper dresses. Drinks, dancing and games pursued. In the early hours of the morning hilarity broke out in our room with Kiel coming back plastered and doing funny things. There is a video of the lot, but im no going to describe it in a public forum where I know my grandparents are reading. Haha. Great night anyway!
Tomorrow is out last half day in Corfu, hopefully not too hung ...
Dinner tonight was the Ionian Experience. We headed off to a Greek Restaurant where we had Greek food, Ouzo, and were treated to a traditional dance show, where we saw a variety of different dances from the Corfu Island. Between dances and meal courses, we were encouraged to participate. There were a couple of birthdays and a marriage proposal tonight from one of the other tours. So those guys got extra special treatment, which was fun. We all got ...
The second day in Greece was spent on George's Boat. It was a cruise round the island on a motorboat with several stops to jump in the sea. George himself is a bit of a perv but it's all very tongue in cheek and friendly. Ate a lot of Greek salad and drank some Greek beer, also did a lot of swimming in the sea! Got a good tan going on now. In the evening ...

I spent a fabulous week at the Cavo Bianco Village Apartments with my boyfriend and 2 friends. We had the most amazing time!
Just back from 2 weeks at Cavo Bianco Village with my 2 kids, 3 and 13. Had to tell everybody what a great place it was.
This was the second year running that I have been to Cavo Bianco Village with my son. The apartment we had was nice (as asked for same one as last year). It could accomodate 3 people easily (with space) as it had an upstairs area with bed etc & it was cleaned daily (except sunday as is the norm).
I love it
Cavo Bianco village is great. The staff are polite and friendly (especially George and marie behind the bar they are both lovely people.) The entertainment was fab particularly the cabarets but even though they were excellent they could never beat the greek nights that were arranged. The food that is served in the resteraunt is absolutly gorgeous and is definatly worth a try. The rooms are well decorated and kept clean and tidy. Cavo bianco village is the best place i have ever been when abroad and i will definatly go there again i also suggest that you should hire a car because there are some lovely villages and some beautiful sites to be seen. Finally i would like to say thank you to George and Marie for making our holiday so fun and i hope to see you in the near future. x x
