Leave your ego at home and come to this place bringing your best face. The people that run this place are F**king awesome, the mountains surrounding are magical, the caves, mysterious and the experience, ,unforgettable. I will be back for sure!

nothing to complain about - maybe a little over-priced meals, but a very nice place to relax for a couple of days

Tham Lot (Cave / Hoehle)
First I just wanted to take the bus from Chiang Mai to Pai. On the way to Pai I changed my plan and took another bus to Sop Pong and from their a car-ride to the cave named Tham Lot. 5:30 AM, getting my pack, packed and walking to the bus station. It's a mini bus, but oh no! There is a large farang lady with a small dog asking a lot of questions. Pai is not a number
Josh got sick in Chiang Mai and while he recovered I took a side trip to Pai with our friend Gabby. Pai was the San Francisco of Thailand with a mixture of hippies, both locals and foreigners, country folks that must have migrated there from Texas, and a slew of other characters. The Birds
Soppong was our first real experience so far of rural Thailand. We arrived after a minibus journey further along the same feared mountain road between Chiang Mai and Pai, which was absolutely fine and again a pretty enjoyable journey.

Halfway Point
... feet very wet) we started a long climb up the mountain. Halfway up we stopped by a bamboo plant whilst the guide set to work with her machete making us all some cups and chopsticks for lunch. Once we reached the top we could see all the way down into Mae Hong Son and also across to the mountain which was the border with Burma (Myanmar).
