Leaving Vietnam!

... we spotted a cinema and we went for a look.Bailey spotted the Micheal Jackson movie and insisted on going in.I thought it was brutal!Afterward we had a few games of pool and went home.We had a trip booked to the Chu Chi Tunnels next day so it was an early start.

We slept in a little bit and missed breakfast but just caught our tour to the tunnels.Turned out we had a crazy tour guide who insisted on talking and singing on the ...

Asleep on the john in shameless Saigon!

... is not good enough. Understandably I am concerned at fraudulent use of my caxton card, I am still trying to connect to the reporting helpline by mobile phone (over £60 so far spent doing this) and still 3rd in the cue after approx 50 minutes. I would never have signed up for a service that is not 24 hours. Should my card be used fraudulently i expect due measures to be taken. The last place I used my card was at a cashpoint near Apocalypse Now (2C Thi Sac ...

Illness, tunnels and gun firing

Yesterday I was rather poorly :(. And we had an 8 hour drive ahead of us!!! A few of the other girls weren't feeling great either- tink it was just the difference in diet probably. I took some anti sickness and immodium plus, felt really ill at the begining of the journey but then perked up towards the end but was just shakey as I hadn't ate! We went out for a meal which was really good- I didn't want anything too hot so I had half a pizza and half a Quesillada (no idea how to spell it ...

Hey

Well we finally dragged ourselves away from the beach in Cambodia and have made to jump into Vietnam. The coach left at 8:30 in the morning (although there was another at 7:30 that we just couldn't face getting up for). It was the usual affair with okish A/C and terrible Cambodian male solo karaoke thundering out of the speakers on loop. Nothing to report except numb bum and a strange guy at the back who decided to read out loud for a few hours ...

Where the street have no driving rules!

... then I didn't have to haggle them. Not like I don't like to do that, but I was exhausted. I didn't sleep much on either plane.

Drive in Saigon is so different than NY. I know NY driving have a reputation for driving "crazy" on the roads but even though people in Saigon don't drive fast, people on motor bikes RULE the roads. They drive all over the street, on your side of the road, right into oncoming traffic, or on the sidewalk. Cars merge lanes even though you're ...

Cu-Chi Pie

... some propaganda video telling us how amazing and faultless the Vietcong (VC) were, we headed into the jungle to take a loot at some of their work, which indeed did turn out to be extremely impressive, 'creative', and pretty faultless.

Guide showed us some of the artillery left by the Americans, and then an assortment of the traps that the VC engineered - all of which were extremely gruesome, and more akin to something you'd find in Saw 4 ...
