I celebrated at Mom's with a good book, Lifetime movies (murder & mayhem, not sappy), and pistachio cake. She even let me have the gooey center pieces - quite possibly because she saw what happened when The Nightmare Nanny didn't get her way.

Sept. 25th drove the Great River Road alongside the east side of the Mississippi. Beautiful drive through the lower south east side of WI and over into the north west side of Illinois. Rolling hills, beautiful trees, lots of farms with the livestock outside in pastures. Drove more into Illinois and nothing but corn and soybeans......ugh!!
