      After sleeping late today, we went to a great cafe that we'd scoped out last night on La Rambla. The kids have become experts at ordering things and asking questions in Spanish even when shopkeepers assume that they'd prefer to speak English. We've been asked more than once where we're from and where the kids go to school, which I think says a lot for Pacheco. At a grocery store I told the kids to find some almonds, and I'd barely turned my back when I heard them asking ...

      ... too which is a shame as Barcelona is one of Europe’s most attractive cities.

      When we got to Place to Catalunya we changed to the “Red line” and saw quite a few sights we had seen on our first visit here in 2006. Each of these routes took about 2 hours so we felt we got our monies worth even though we didn’t do the “green line”.

      ... A fifteen minute job, he informs me. We find a Fiat garage. Thursday, they announce. But today is Monday. And that, they point to our Fiat compatible fuel filter, is not a Fiat part. We cannot do it. This is all spoken in Spanish of course, and very fast at that. We understood perfectly though, and drove on, carefully, to Ford, where we get the benefit of three boys who fit our part in thirty minutes flat, costing €27 . Now that's what I call service!!

      ... you will get a 1/3 of a baguette with just the one item on it and cheese if your lucky, 85% consists of the bread and 15 % filling at most. I would suggest anyone with a gluten allergy to either have a heavy bank account so you can order exactly what you want, but in most places and especially between 2pm and 5pm the selection is really limited OR eat carrot sticks and fruit the whole time.
