... 65, Aconquija Co. And from Tafí del Valle you can go to Amaicha del Valle, Ruinas de Quilmes and then to Cafayate in Salta. The same Co. (Aconquija) covers the distance. You have to find out the timetable in each location since bus frequencies change from time to time.
To go to Salta, I bought a ticket in Balut

... that looked like it could have come straight out of a western. We didn´t really know where we were going to be getting off either, just that it wasn´t the last stop like last time. So, we probably looked like idiots when we went downstairs and tried to get off and the coach/bus service station, thinking it was the terminal.
Really needed a ...

Tucuman, Argentina lior77... is usual all over Argentina but there was a particular group of 3 here. The shrines that you see in Sth America remind me of little Buddhist shrines, the type that you might see in somebody´s home, but instead they are catholic shrines to Mary or Jesus. Argentina has shrines on every major road and a cross or statue of Christ over looking every town. But here there is a story that related to a small town Vallecito, 60km S/W of San Juan (where I had seen the ...
Tucuman, Argentina rebecca.rose... someone. sigh. i kinda had a friend who I met in the plaza but he got really obsessive and I had to tell him to leave me alone. yikes! 3. WAAYY too many people for my comfort level 4. the traffic and pollution and all the catcalls. Joys of Argentina: 1. I love the siesta hours. Buisnesses all shut down just so people can go take a nap or be with their families for a bit. I like that they make their lives alittle less centered around work work work. 2. My host family. Graciela ...
San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina missandrea... to understand some of the art, but overall it was a nice time. Seemed like almost everyone there was smoking and it was really getting to my throat. That paired with the horrible pollution from all the traffic was making me cough so much. This really isn't a healthy trip at all. With the cig smoke, pollution, lack of veggies, fruits and whole grains in the Argentine diet, lack of sleep, and constant threat of getting run over in the streets.. I don't understand how everyone here ...
San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina missandrea... thru Wednesday, March 05 School time. All the kids just stare at me like I have another head growing out of my back. Here is my weekly schedule: Monday: 8-10 Pragmatica (reviewing Spanish pretty much), 11-1 History. Tuesday: 8-10 Pragmatica, 10:30-12 comprehension. Wednesday: 8-10 sintax/grammar. 10:30-12:30 Geography. Thursday: 8:30-11 argentine ...
San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina missandrea... after buying tickets for the following day to mendoza, we wandered around till we found a hostel with availability, and crashed. oh, a bed. it feels so nice. the next day we wandered around tucumán. the woman at the tourist office told us to go to plaza san martin and see the reloj de flores. it was about 10 blocks away, but we made the trek over there. disappointing. i thought it would be this huge clock with beautiful flowers and ...
Tucumán, Argentina ruizespieces... local and knew exactly where to go. So I think during the second half, I stuck better to whatever was the easiest way. It was worth the effort to get there, as the waterfall was great. The water in pool was cold, but being hot and sweaty from hiking/biking it was very bearable. Standing under the waterfall was like a massage, the water came down very hard. The sun more or less went away about 10 minutes after I left the water so it wasn't ...
Tucuman, Argentina alexp02... camp site. Indigenous descent, a travelling artist with his family, sells jewellery and juggles to earn a living. We were talking about the mosquitoes and he reckoned we should try a local type of mushroom to keep them at bay. Sounded great but then he continued on to say it would give you an out of body experience and demonstrated how your body would react - lots of writhing and freezing...hmm, ¨Is it legal?¨ I ask, ¨Yes¨ he says, smiling. Think I´ll stick to my nasty deet spray.
