      Satisfied customer

      from

From the moment we arrived we had an excellent time. The shuttle driver informed us of all the good points of interest. Upon our check-in, the front desk clerk Chris, was very helpful in planning our tour attractions. The room was very clean, comfortable, and affordable. I will definitely be a repeat customer and recommend this hotel to my friends.

      Perfect stay

      from

Had a great stay at a great little hotel. Rooms were very clean and nice. Ours had a kitchenette and jacuzzi tub. We hardly left the room.

Not a real large room but nicely put together with a affordable price.

I give it two thumbs up.

Hell of a hill, but enjoyed the stay

      from

Went for a mid week getaway by myself, and found the Cat Beach house with the most affordable rates, and many ammentities. Loved it will go back again.

      I Liked It

      from

Other than the walk up that damn hill I think the place is great. Each room has a private bath. Our room had a kitchenette with everything you might need provided, right down to the coffee to put in the coffeemaker. There is a patio area with a BBQ (utensils once again provided), the room was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable enough and there was an air conditioner, a T.V. and a VCR in the room.

They'll loan you 2 movies per day from their video library (which has a decent selection of movies) or if you'ld like something a bit more adult oriented you can go to the video shop downtown and rent something else(around $5 plus a $20 per movie deposit ). I mean really, what more can you expect for around $40 per night? tax included.

      Changed my mind about staying

      from

I found this hotel in the Internet. I was looking for a hotel for an upcoming trip to Catalina, so I made a few phone calls around the island. When I called this hotel, the person quoted me $65 for the particular night I wanted to stay (Sunday), then I decided to stay 2 nights (Saturday & Sunday), but the rate went up to $145/per night.

Then I read the bad reviews this hotel has on the internet, and I decided to pay a little more for something worth my money.

This hotel makes me not go to Catalina anymore

      from

1.TOO EXPENSIVE for a Crappy room

First of all, I have to say that the cost effectiveness of this hotel is horrible. I saw the ads of this hotel on the internet and paid $125 and thought that could get us a clean and comfortable room. However, the room we got was OLD, SHABBY, NARROW with dirty dark carpet.

NO shampoo, conditioner, tooth paste and brush that a hotle even a motel regullarly offers.

You might think that $125 cannot get a decent room in Catalina island during the travel season. But that is not the truth!!

Due to the rage at that crappy room, we did research on the hotel price while staying in catalina island, we found that $125 can get a more than decent room in Catalina island !! I almost could not believe my eyes when I saw the rooms of other hotels. They are much bigger and CHEAPER even with better location!

Hotel Vicent which is just located 5 minites walking to the beach has much bigger room, bathroom and TV costs only $100 with AAA card.

Catherine hotel is located on the street by the beach can offer the same size room but cleaner, more comfortable with shampoo, tooth paste and brush only $90.

      2. Don't make decision before seeing the room

if you want to make a deal with Catalina Beach hotel. You have to pay for the whole price when you make reservation and it is not refundable.

I booked a room and paid the whole price by phone before seeing it.

Then we got a crappy room. A family which stayed next to us in the hotel had twice bigger room and paid around 100 dollars. That gave us a lesson:"do not pay for something unknown if it is not refundable"

You may choose it due to its seemingly lower price. we highly recommend you to see it before you make any decision.

BTW, the description about that hotel on some websites is" one street to the beach" When we got there walked hard uphill,we would realize what one street to the beach means.

Seeing is beliving is what we learned from staying in this hotel.

Okay, friendly, but a little disappointed

      from

The staff was friendly and efficient. However, the room we had was okay, but the bathroom/shower was very small.

      Cute little place

      from

Cute little place, clean and fairly quiet room. Has a kitchenette in the room and an outdoor seating/barbecue area. We stayed there mid-week and got a great deal. Staff was very friendly. The rooms were very small though...we plan to visit again soon and we'll probably try a different hotel hopefully with a larger room.

      Repeat guest

      from

My Family and I have been visiting the Catalina Beach House Hotel for well over 12 Summer Seasons now,(12 years). We have never encountered anything except for a great vacation. The Staff has always been over extensive on Hospitality, and have always made us feel right at home.

My recommendatins are if you are planning a trip to Beautiful Catalina Island, we highly recommend this Hotel....

      Cool little place!

      from

Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted at the boat and brought to the hotel. The hotel was nice and the people there were excellent. The manager I think her name was Diane went above and beyond helping us plan our whole time on the island. The room nice with a kitchen and everthing. One night we decided to spend in and were able to check out a couple of movies from their large collection. I had a great time and I would do it all over again.

I made sure though, to show him lots of pictures of us together when he was a baby and a toddler so that he knew we were already good friends. We spent two days hanging out with Braylen and Kellen and Linnea and then the three of them left to fly to the east coast to visit with ...

#5 Cocoon Hyperlight AirCore Travel Pillow - $12 Ebay new: This pillow fits in the palm of my hand and weighs only a few ounces. It blows up quickly and is very comfortable. If you are limited on space like myself I advise not getting the Thermarest travel pillow even though it has slightly better reviews. It is about 5 times the size and weight.

When I return the following day I will take a 13 day transatlantic cruise to Southampton, England where I began the Eurotrip for sixish months. I will go over more details and contacts as the time comes and passes, because it goes deep.

... just what I needed. The guys kindly dropped me off in Newport Beach, a place I'd heard about constantly since that 2006 trip but had never managed to visit. In a typically Californian manner, and as if to set the tone for my time there, my host Ross Sinclair told me his housemates would be home drinking beer on the patio, and I should grab his bike and go for a ride along the beach, and that he would be home "later on" to catch up with me. The ride along the ...
