Absolutely brilliant spot to get away! Admittedly we were only here 2 days but it was a highlight. Kayaking around with just us on the water. Swimming on a deserted beach and eating endless amounts of food! Look forward to coming again. Did via a Imperial Junk boat cruise $120 USD 3 days 2 night.

A magical spot, walking distance from the center of town and tucked away in a prvate cove. The "estate" is huge, room for al quests to sprawl out on lawn chairs, under bamboo huts, on kayaks and windsurfers. The outdoor private stone shower is a dream.

After having a decent look around for a decent deal in Hanoi we finally found a great company to do Halong Bay with. We chose to go with Imperial Cruise Junk boat and got it for $120 USD for 3 days and 2 nights which seemed pretty sweet, especially as it included all food!

We spent today on Monkey Island! Monkey Island is one of the almost 2000 islands in the archipelago that makes up Halong Bay's massive and alluring draw for millions of people around the world every year. The simple fact that there are so many people added this sad and polluted feel to the experience as well as the locals did everything possible to take advantage of the tourist money and at the same time polluting the by in unimaginable ways with gas from the boats and ...

I flew into Hanoi yesterday evening to another tremendous downpour. A storm, which the Vietnamese have labelled as 'godzilla' was passing over, seeping through and slowing down the rapid pace of life which encompasses everyday life here. I absorbed as much of this new and exciting culture as I could, eagerly gazing though the raindrops on the window, completely engrossed by the chaos that surrounded me on my journey to the hotel. The incessant sound of ...

... floating around here! We left there about 4 and took the boardwalk to beach 3. This one, we thought, was much better. We stopped here for a swim whilst the girls headed back. Got back at about 6, showered and freshened up and then headed down for supper at about 7. We had the two Thai chaps again and Emily and Milue. Whilst we were eating they came around promoting the rose bar, they offered a free arrival drink, so we thought we may as well go have that and see how ...
