      Saying Goodbye to Tennessee

I had bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast which was free from the hotel. I am sad to see Tennessee in my rearview mirror but I am headed to Atlanta. I drove through the mountains and then stopped for lunch at Chipotle for $9.30. I only ate half and will finish the rest for dinner. I stopped for gas in Atlanta at Chevron for $36.90.

Suffice it to say that our stay was beyond fantastic. Bread was broken, soups were made, and great conversations were had. Not only were we blessed to be able to share the Thanksgiving holidays with loved ones, but were very fortunate to be able to help in the preparations ...

Atlanta is a relatively young city or at least it's relatively new as a large city, so quite a lot of its place in history was in the post-WWII era and much even during my lifetime. Saturday was my Democrats day in Atlanta, visiting both the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center and the Martin Luther King National Historic Site plus a few other sites that don’t go very far back in time.

The MLK site is interesting, but I didn’t manage to ...

... barely know the band anymore? Well for the 15 year old me!! The concert ended up being awesome and the band performed many of their old songs that I remembered. Brandon performs live exactly how he sounds in recordings and it was great getting to hear the two openers- Walk the Moon and Youngblood Hawke perform too!

Left Vicksburg, MS to Rutledge, GA, right outside of downtown Atlanta. Stayed at Hard Labor Creek State campsite. Lovely rustic setting with no wifi or limited cell phone service however cable tv. Go figure! Had several fires at night. Highlight was visiting with Penny's closest cousins, Susie and Ellen. Love both these sisters! Had fabulous dinner at Susie and Tom's. Tom is a fabulous chef ...
