Übrigens besuchen gemäss Statistik von den das Visitor Center besuchenden Personen lediglich 5% auch den Gipfel des Mauna Kea.
Auf einem kleinen Walk hinter dem Visitor Center dürfen wir denn auch noch die wunderprächtigen, symmetrischen Mauna Kea Silberschwert Pflanzen (info) bestaunen. ...
Entlang der Kohala Coast
... kleinere Strände, welche mit dem sehr leuchtblauen schimmernden Meerwasser zum Baden einladen. Da wir auf der Durchreise sind spazieren wir jedoch nur entlang der Meeresküste. Wie im Wasser finden wir auch am Strand mehrere Schildkröten.
