      ... tests themselves It was very quiet as we walked around the home as all of the students were at school. However, break at the school then started so some of them ran back over to the orphanage to get their cup of porridge (each one stopping to high 5 us or shake our hands) as a mid morning snack.       ... own (8 years old) to the Mcupa (this is the town we stay in) police station because his mother was always drunk. He had been to the centre before, and on presenting himself this time said 'I want to go back to Grandsons of Abraham, and I want to go to school'. This was a year ago and he has just passed all of his exams and is ready to start official schooling. The centre keep in touch with the boys families to inform them what is going on.

      ... I am genuinely going to miss Mombasa so much! I can honestly say that apart from the odd hot shower, I have not missed any home comforts at all! And I brought the minimum items! I will miss the busy matatu journeys and the crazy tuk tuk rides, I will miss the wonderful food that Irene has made for us, the general pace of life here, the amazing volunteers I have met here and made some brilliant friends with, and obviously the incredible boys! ...

      ... all cultures. Very busy with large markets, people trying to sell you sugar cane to eat and just a lot of pedestrians.
      I went down to the ferry area - a busy drop off point for matatus. cars queing to take the ferry, hawkers selling trinkets and gifts and a chance to drink some coconut juice and eat some corn on the cob!
      A visit would not be complete with a tour of Fort Jusus - well worth a look ...
