Finally, the day we had waited for for so long was here. Disneyland! Our hotel was a short shuttle ride to the Disneyland front gate. Once we had sorted out our tickets we dove into Disneyland. Walking down the main street, we were overwhelmed by the buzz. It sure felt like the best theme park in the world. At the end of the main street, past a huge Christmas tree, was what we have seen hundreds of times ...

      ... the summer season.

Other rides we tried were, Jaguar, Montazooma's Revenge (which I remember from my last time there and which we stayed on and did twice!), Boomerang (a cool ride going forwards and then backwards to the start), Rip Tide among others! In the end we went on 11 different rides and two of them twice!

The worst and scariest ride was Ghostrider. This one was a wooden roller coaster and was 1.4km, but went ...

Apparently the story/ride is randomised, so different aspects (setting, characters, motive) are matched to make for a new experience every time which is clever. There was a few issues with our "ship" door before it started and another rider behind us exclaimed "I ain't flying no ******n broken ship!" We also rode "Space Mountain" again, having waited for ...

... our picture before we got all wet! A turbulent flume adventure with high speeds, height and sudden drops and stops! This one also said “You May Get Wet” Hmm . . . all in the name of fun of course!

We decided to have a break in the middle of the day and come home for a few hours before going back again for the afternoon/night session and fireworks. This worked great for me and hmm I may have had a granny nap but don’t tell anyone! ...

... realising a beautiful near full moon gave enough light to walk by. We kept the pace up and the stops brief and managed the 5 miles of steep in 4.5 hrs – a record for us so far! As we near the rim day walkers offered more and more congratulations and by the time we got to the top we were pretty stoked with our achievement. Leila loved her necklace too!
