The trail widened out, but we still had to pay attention to our footings. We did not want to fall off the cliff. A little further down the trail, we got our first glimps of the Na Pali coast. That was my first moment of real contentment on Kauai.

This is by far the most tranquil of the Hawaiian islands. It is ideal for those who love outdoor activities. My favourite spot is Hanalei bay/ Hanalei town with its quirky shops, restaurants and surf beach.
