... both the Captain and the wheel. Yikes! We continued to list and then we heard some crashes down below. Somehow or another, Captain made his way back to the wheel and somehow (and perhaps in spite of us) our dependable seaworthy vessel righted herself. And just like that, we made our entrance into Biscayne Bay.

... We love the highly polished wood and warm carpet colors. Our first impression is positive and we gaze down the ship’s length to see overstuffed chairs and sofas lining the hall in intimate arrangements, and plenty of windows. We head to our cabins to drop off our carry-on bags and then walk the ship. Our cabin is a bit smaller than the one on the QM2, but so nicely appointed, we don’t feel cramped. Surprise! ... performing Billy Joel, Barry Manilow and Elton John songs. It was entertaining except a man behind us kept making these snorting sounds...just a little gross. We also sat next to a man who wore a kilt. His wife said he did not have anything underneath, otherwise it would be a skirt!

After the song and dance show, there was a comedy show in another theater at the other end of the ship. ...

... mates for the cruise, Lynn and Robert, Nan and Skip who were friends from Phoenix, and Fran and Wyndy (short for Wyndham) from Jacksonville, Florida. All six were lovely people and we enjoyed their company throughout the cruise. Wyndy was retired Air Force and when I mentioned my surprise at the machine guns I think he thought I was naive. "Of course they have machine guns," he said. "They are Coast Guard."
