... at DIavolezza and caught the vermicular to the mountain top AWESOME !! Firs time in my life to touch snow ...wow wow wow ...kinda another emotional moment in my life .... The sun has now come out and the vista is even more fabulous ....perfecto ...oh and everyone speaks italian up here and in St Moritz. Feeling on top of the world 300 feet above ea level ...oh so cool ..someone's brought their dog up here ...I'm sure ...
... br> It stayed sunny until two minutes after we sat on a bench overlooking the cobalt blue Lago di Lamar to eat our lunch. We had time to make it to shelter under the trees before the hailstones started. Two herons seemed to be enjoying the weather as they swooped and glided across the lake surface. After lunch it wasn’t a long walk back to the campsite and so we called it a day and headed back to Ruby.

spot. After lunch, we started our descent and got soaked by a heavy shower.
Once again, the thunder started as we were about 20 minutes from the campsite but luckily we avoided the heavy rain.
Tuesday 16th July
We went cycling today. There is a cycle path from Lago di Ledro to Lake Garda which we thought we would try. We planned to have lunch in Riva del Garda and if we had time, cycle along ...
... and lots of traffic were totally ignored once I flicked the lever to Manual and used the paddle shifters to encourage to horses to get their act together! The next minutes flew past so damn quickly as I was told to "use the gas" by my guide and gave the beast some stick! For a rev head like me, it was total bliss listening to the screaming V8 and using the instantaneous shifters to up and down the 7 speeds!
All too soon we were back in the parking lot and my dream was ...
... vineyards surrounding it!
Later when we returned to Riva Del Garda we dined at a restaurant overlooking the little harbour by our hotel, enjoying the very relaxed atmosphere of the town, and also thoroughly enjoying being able to enjoy bowls of amazing homemade pasta, washed down with local wine for about $20 each! The food and drink here is way cheaper than we expected, I guess we are lucky that it is not high season yet!
