Lunch under the Piedmont sun

... but we didn't get to taste it. Some of the group bought wine but I chose not to even through the prices were good. A smashed bottle of schnapps at Heathrow still haunts me today. We weaved our way up the street to La Miraja di Gatti Eugenio for lunch. For 20 euros we were given antipasti, two courses and dessert plus wine - great food and great value. Instead of pasta I had asparagus risotto (delicious) and while everyone ...

We went down for breakfast a little after 8:00 and the breakfast room was packed. There were slim pickings because there were so many people. But, after we ate very little the kitchen help brought out all kinds of new breads and cheeses. Too bad, so sad. We haven't been going hungry on this trip.

It was miserable weather again today. Heavy clouds and off and on rain. We were hoping for good ...

Farewell Yessers & On to Vercelli

A travel blog entry by eldonsteeves on May 02, 2015

We drove almost 3 hours this morning to get Ed and Sue to their hotel for one night. They were hoping to see the last supper and the La Scala opera house. I hope they were able to do that. Eldon and I drove a little over an hour to the town of Vercelli. We had hoped to see the Duomo, but it was closed. So we walked over to the Basilica di Sant'Andrea. This was a 13th century church. We drove to ...

... able to run Xzena at WAO, but I had fun watching her perform with Jan. They managed to nail the tricky weave entry, but unfortunately just ran round the back of 1 jump for a refusal and ended up 4th in the biathlon. She is only 3.5, so I am sure will be featuring in other world events in the future.

Throughout the last few days there has been trading going on between the countries for shirts. Today that got a little mad ...

Day 4 World Agility Open

Yet another day of stunning agility. Allan judged individual agility first, and there were some great runs on the course. Too many to mention really, but some of the toy dogs in particular are very fast. In the afternoon there was quite a tricky agility team course set by the Russian judge. There were many dogs which faulted on this course as well as some very fast clean runs. I think the russians were 1st and 2nd - Svetlana had a great round, but was ...
