This castle is amazing! The rooms are great, the service are great! It's beautiful.

Special Mention to Lucca- I think he is the receptionist/Manager...If he is not the manager, he should be. This man made sure that we were comfortable, happy and safe. We missed our train in Rome and he was constantly on the phone with us guiding us back. Then he personally picked us up with the shuttle van from the station - even after he is already off to make sure that we are safe in the castle.

The breakfast was a feast and all the food were fresh and just so good. Definitely had a great time at the castle. Actually, you have to allocate one day just to spend in the castle and roam the grounds and swim in the pool.

      Beautiful experience!

Great hotel. Located approximately 30 minutes (by train) outside central Rome. Whilst you don't have the convenience of being in central Rome, the location of the hotel in the peaceful rolling hills is a great break from the madness of the City. The staff is amazing in their desire to be helpful. I highly recommend this hotel

      Don't sit on Vatican floors

... We traipsed across the city, back and forth, throwing in a few futile pilgrimages to bike shops so Andy could track down a coveted Pinarello jersey and carbon shoes. We stopped for caffes, wine, pizza and people watching.

The Andy Warhol exhibit that we had missed in Ortranto earlier had made its way to the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in the Borghese Gardens so we traded the antique for the modern. It was a worthwhile visit, despite ...

... the painted cupola far, far above. In short, the basilica has blown us away. We squeezed past the crowds to catch a glimpse at Michelangelo's famous Pieta, then escaped the crowds completely by descending under the chapel into the Vatican's grotto, where the tombs of all the former popes are found, and out the back way.

At this point, we were presented with an interesting option: climb up into the dome of Saint-Peter's Basilica. We had not ...
