Great hotel in a great city!
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in November, and got a very good deal on an internet special. The hotel is immaculate throughout, the rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is very good, only about a 5 minute walk to the old town, and also bus stops just out the front to get to the train station. The buffet breakfast was excellent, as were the staff and their service. I highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed 4 nights till New Year's Eve 2004/2005. Very nice hotel, modern and pleasant. Many guests our age (30s) which was nice. Great breakfast buffet with something for everyone and very fresh. Service was very friendly but always in a rush. Room service was good but twice our room wasn't cleaned when we returned in the afternoon for a nap. Our room was very good, large and very well furnished.
A pity was the 20-minute-long walk to the old town and the main points of interest along a busy four-lane road. After trying this once we preferred taking the bus (bus stop 5 minutes from hotel) that was going every five minutes during the day and every 20 minutes after 7 PM. Two excellent (and pricey) restaurants in the hotel, we tried the Austrian nouvelle cuisine which was outstanding at any rate! I was missing a sauna (steam bath had to be turned on upon request and you had to change there which was inconvenient to me) and public internet access.
I would go there again although I would prefer to stay at a more central location.
Best Western Castellani Parkhotel
We stayed at the Best Western Castellani ParkHotel. It was about a five minute walk to the downtown area. The hotel was modern, clean, and had the best buffet breakfast (included in the room price) that I can remember having. The hotel has a surface parking. Very enjoyable stay.

We have just come back from a lovely trip up to Lake Konigssee, and a boat trip down the lake to St Bartholoma. The lake is nestled between the mountains, and is 602m above sea level with an average depth of 150m. It is the cleanest lake in Germany, with the water being pure enough to be classified ...
... of Salzburg . Truth be told it's a great idea if someone checks the opening times of such places. We got off the bus at the wrong stop, walked the 1km up the Alps to the gorge to discover it was in fact closed. To make the most out of our journey we then proceeded to climb down to the gorge off the side of ...
... reason to stop, especially since Hallstatt was so pretty, so we decided to continue on. We got a few photos from the other side of the lake of St Wolfgang, but it seems pretty touristy just because of the namesake really.
The views in Austria were just absolutely beautiful. I loved the old chalet style houses that were everywhere and the rolling hills. The grass is perfectly green at the moment and even the farms are immaculately groomed. Ash ...
... free because of our card. We walked around the castle for a little bit. There was nothing too exciting. We then decided to climb even more steps to see the state rooms. They were pretty neat. We then were getting tired, so we headed back down. At the bottom of the mountain, there was Europe's biggest Amber store. Amber and I looked around determined to find some nice jewelry. I found a nice pair of earrings that I really like and decided to ...
