Great hotel in a great city!
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in November, and got a very good deal on an internet special. The hotel is immaculate throughout, the rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is very good, only about a 5 minute walk to the old town, and also bus stops just out the front to get to the train station. The buffet breakfast was excellent, as were the staff and their service. I highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed 4 nights till New Year's Eve 2004/2005. Very nice hotel, modern and pleasant. Many guests our age (30s) which was nice. Great breakfast buffet with something for everyone and very fresh. Service was very friendly but always in a rush. Room service was good but twice our room wasn't cleaned when we returned in the afternoon for a nap. Our room was very good, large and very well furnished.
A pity was the 20-minute-long walk to the old town and the main points of interest along a busy four-lane road. After trying this once we preferred taking the bus (bus stop 5 minutes from hotel) that was going every five minutes during the day and every 20 minutes after 7 PM. Two excellent (and pricey) restaurants in the hotel, we tried the Austrian nouvelle cuisine which was outstanding at any rate! I was missing a sauna (steam bath had to be turned on upon request and you had to change there which was inconvenient to me) and public internet access.
I would go there again although I would prefer to stay at a more central location.
Best Western Castellani Parkhotel
We stayed at the Best Western Castellani ParkHotel. It was about a five minute walk to the downtown area. The hotel was modern, clean, and had the best buffet breakfast (included in the room price) that I can remember having. The hotel has a surface parking. Very enjoyable stay.

Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Trucks are not permitted on highway on weekends or public holidays. We arrived in Salzburg 10am after a short toilet stop just before. As we were too early to check into our hotel we met a ...
... and headed off to another restaurant which the waiter recommended around the corner. After 1 hour of following his Austrian/German instructions that Adam had understood perfectly, we ended up in the Salzburg University Beerhall and Garden . Here we had a couple of Steins and some disgusting food. We only realized afterwards that everyone else were feasting off delicious array of Austrian Delicacies from the upstairs food hall. Hmmm it was a quiet night; I even ...
... pay our respects to those who lost their lives at the hands of the Nazi regime. A cold, dark, dirty and terrible place made us all realise just how lucky we are that we didn't have to try and survive in these disease ridden conditions. The bullet holes in the cement walls and scratch marks in the gas chambers will be something I'll never forget. From there we continued forward to Prague, (the hidden city.) Until then, ...
... that I might miss the connecting flight. I was told at check in that I would have to check in at the gate at Dulles to get a boarding pass and seat assignment. After deplaning at DC, I went straight to the gate and it was in the middle of being boarded. I waited in line about 5 minutes, but nothing seemed to be happening at the front, so I butted in and asked about getting assigned a seat and they said, Mr. Haas your next on the list. ...
