After dinner we went out onto the Piazza San Benedetto for one last time. Us girls still had to pose with a copy of "Fayette Woman" in order to get our picture in the local magazine. The lady's name was also Irene & she took us around the vineyard & we watched the grapes being unloaded onto a conveyer belt of a machine that plucks the stems off of the grapes, quite the operation. My favorite part of any wine tour is seeing the barrels of wine, must have been Sock Monkey's favorite, too because we found him passed out on a barrel!

Now time for the wine tasting, was pleasantly surprised with their reds ...

... herding his goats & we could hear the sound of their little goat bells ringing. Then we found a small creek & I enjoyed standing next to the creek looking up at the town of Norcia & its church tower. The Apennines mountains were all around us & the air smelled so fresh, the countryside was so peaceful & beautiful.

It was time to get on the small bus & go truffle hunting, none of us had any idea of what to expect. Our drive was a ...
