... is quite steep, and Helen walks some of it. A bus load of walkers have been disgorged from a bus, and are high above us on the slopes of Mt Vettore. The view from the pass is magnificent. Jackets are on for the descent because there is a chill in the air and we bomb down with the enormous cliffs of Vettore looming up into the clouds on our left. We continue through dense forest, most of the time in shade on a winding undulating quiet road, ...

We think we'll probably never come back here, so we decide to spend a day taking it all in, and resting tired muscles. The breakfast buffet is varied, and includes large bowls of home-made yoghurt and ricotta da pecore. ... until we pass the turnoff and tunnel entrance leading to Norcia. We bowl along this ever more beautiful precipitous valley following the fast flowing river upstream. The slope is noticeable, and we work quite hard, passing power stations which harness the flow, and trout and salmon farms which use it to keep the water pure. We are peckish, and places to stop are scarce. We stop at Bar/Ristorante Fiorella. There is a shaded nook with tables opposite and ...

... Jack could go to the Talking Olympics and win every medal there is, he is an amazing person. Jack is passionate about learning and soaks up facts like a sponge. He constantly asks questions to broaden his understanding of the world. From this trip, Jack has developed a fascination with World War II. We have discovered that he may, in fact, have a photographic memory. Have some fun and ask him to tell you a little something about every hotel we ...
