    ... we could start early at CLAUDE MONET'S HOUSE AND GARDENS. Met a VERY nice and helpful waiter that gave us a brochure of the entire area and helped us find a hotel. Yay, nice French people and waiters. They should teach that to the rest of Europe.

    Day 8 Set alarms to wake early, and after a quick breakfast of some rather squashed croissants, we packed up, cleared the dishes and loaded up the car. I wrote in the visitors book. M. Bizien turned up at 9.30. Our neighbours were also leaving, and were cleaning, but we'd decided to pay and handed over cash for bed linen and cleaning. We had a warm goodbye, and left before 10.     ... and suggested a different route to see a menhir at Kerhouezel. We walked about a km inland, and saw a fine 6.5m high menhir in a field of frisky cows.     ... considered going back, but I rallied and we carried on. We stopped at the lovely Chapel of St Samson again, this time with some euros to donate, and we both lit a candle in gratitude. A fishing boat was close into the rocks lifting pots, probably first day out after the wild weather.
