Stepping back in time, you are miles away from the modern world and its fast pace, time moves slowly in Dominica and that is the way Dominicans like it.

see full story at BookingsDominica travelogue

http://bookingsdominica.com/dom inica-nature-island.cfm
Dominica, Dominica irclay... green eyes and his golden blondish, thick, soft hair. And I don't believe that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. That relationship cost me too much. Years of pain. I haven't thought about any part of that relationship except the breakup almost since it happened. 14 years ago. Now he is mythical, like a unicorn. It doesn't matter anymore and it hasn't for so long. All that matters is the pain that I ...
San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dominica pirates_booty... brown sugar and butter inside. Quite good. Joyce gave me several presents to bring back. Very nice of her. I gave her and Jem chocolate bars from Trader Joe's but didn't have a full one to give to brenda. I felt bad about that. I wonder if I will ever come back here. Probably not to live but it is a hiker's paradise, Especially for somebody much more dedicated than ...
Dominica, Dominica pirates_booty... about 15 minutes before he was to meet up with us....So we then needed to find a cab driver that would accomodate our schedule. Fortunately for us, we ran into the port "Pit Boss" (my nickname:-)) Job. He was a great guy, who was obviously well respected by all of the cab drivers in the area. He hand picked a cab driver for us - Llyod, that honored the price we had previously arranged ($140 for 4 of us for the day). Job ...
Dominica, Dominica audaciousred... We felt quite at ease in this tropical jungle.

Afterwards, we made our way back to the ship. The sky was still grey but at least, not raining. :) As the ship left the island at 4:00pm, we could see from the top deck the Morne Trois Pitons. It sure was a lovely site to witness. The mountains stood up proud and powerful surrounded by its forests. Ahead of us, the grey sky was starting to clear to make ...
Dominica, Dominica momentsintime... We all got to participate in cooking lunch, Dad helped with the Rice and beans, the Plantains, and he looked at the fish. Kathy helped with the fish, and the plantains. I help with the Fish, and the plantains. We also got to see green oranges! They were yummy too. Liz told us how to make coconut milk, the clear liquid that comes out when you open a coconut is the water, you have to do stuff to make the milk. Oh, yeah...Dad is catching ...
Roseau, Dominica travelin_kat... thing that I have ever seen in my life! We got into the water (very cold at first, but you get used to it) and swim inside the caves. You can see in the image above - this is the entrance to the caves.

If you look up, you can just see through some openings in the top of the rocks with some trees and plant-life.

You swim along a little further, only for a minute or so, and scale along a rocky wall to see the ...
Roseau, Dominica mcdessureault... three of our visit, a young fellow paddled up, stating that he was from the "River Guide Association" and requested a donation for the security patrols that take place at night. With a smile and a thank you, we donated a reasonable sum to the young man. At the same time, we thought that was such a friendly way to extort money, since we hadn't had to pay for any such security patrols in any other islands we've visited. The following day we met a Scottish ...
Portsmouth, Dominica questmiller... It was nice and warm, especially after all the rain we had. We took a few pics, relaxed a little bit and we left. Walking to see something is ok, but the way back, when you have nothing at the end but your bed... it is horrible. At least we did a short break in a small sulfur pond, where the water was hot. Nice for the muscles! Desolation valley is beautiful, even with the smell of rotten eggs. Some water all around us was boiling ...
