An Awesome Final Day in Puebla, Mexico

... due to its age.

As we walked through the market, we went by a park that had a bunch of those battery-operated cars that little kids can drive. They were just sitting there.... waiting to be used.

Camden and Hallie would have been in heaven!

After the market, we visited some absolutely beautiful churches in Puebla. Wow. They were so beautiful. One of the churches that we visited was of Saint Francisco. I felt a little obtrusive taking pictures of the ...

It Takes A Whole Village to Raise A Child

... story books, stuffed animals, and positive words on the walls; a perfect place to teach!

Our first group was brought in at 10:30 a.m. and we started right away with the activity. We asked 6 questions, asked them to "take a stand" and then talked about each question.

Apparently we had gone about this the wrong way. I'm not sure anyone in our first group said a word. They looked very scared and when I tried to give one little boy a high five, he ...

She has two cats - one is big and black and the other is a golden, playful kitten.

Tuesday was our first full day in Puebla - Regional Learning Day. It was an awesome day! We were split into 2 groups and my group went a tour of Puebla first. Traveling in a double decker bus, we rode around the beautiful city of Puebla. CAMP!

... really good for me though, because I spent the whole day reading instead - and the book I read was nothing less than phenomenal. The theme for the week was "One Thing" based on Psalm 27:4 - and the book locked in, and tied together all of my thoughts and all of the teachings from the week. The night I finished it, I experienced God in an incredible new way, and if you contact me, I'd love to tell ...

Getting started in Mexico City

... shade of a tree. We headed back to the guest house for a rest then went out for dinner at the same restaurant as the night before (so good we had to go back). This time I had flautas and Andy had molletas con tocino. Muy delicioso! We headed back to the hotel to get ready for our trip north to San Miguel de Allende. We´ll be there from Sunday to Thursday then back to Mexico City on Thursday for a day before taking the bus south to Oaxaca City.

day 39- Villa Hermosa to Puebla

... was awkward- the door into the closet-sized room opened against the toilet. Parking is in an off-site (but close) secure garage. It is also not inexpensive- $695 per night- but we would like to look around town tomorrow so will stay two nights.

The great awful city of Mexico

... people. Of that group I am most definitely the tallest. Granted, I haven't seen the other 13 million in this city, but from the reaction of the locals I am almost certain that I am the tallest person in all of Mexico. And by about six inches. There are three general reactions to my height and each and every person I encounter has one of the following: The Giggling School Girl - This one started with one 13 year old girl running up and walking beside me non ...
