... my passport checked only to see that Zach hadn't made it very far. The guard wouldn't let him through without seeing our hotel reservation and plane tickets out of Belgium. I got them out and the guy spent what seemed like 20 minutes inspecting them. Finally we got the ok to go through, but honestly we didn't know if our train had left yet. We ran frantic as hell... and made it by about 2 minutes. My nerves were shot.
The first weekend away of the year. And off on the Eurostar to Belgium. The land of chocolate and waffles. Yum. Still being February, in theory not the peak tourist season, although the train leaving London on Friday afternoon was completely packed! We were at the restaurant for easily a couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the staff and the company.
