... much dusting...One or two is best for me. After a long day of sightseeing in Cologne time to find the Cologne beer - which was not a problem at all - they have little pubs along the pedestrian area which runs about two blocks. Stopped at Papa Joe's...must be a kind of local hangout.. We found a window table onto the square so we could people watch. We saw two weddings...lots of tourists...a pug dog...a few ...

Before dinner we had a farewell Captains Cocktail Party on board followed by a Farewell Captain's Dinner (a 5 star 5 course dinner to die for). Early this morning, about 4.30, we sailed passed Frankfurt and onto Cologne, berthing at about 1pm. We opted for the city walking tour which was about 1.5 hour duration. We learnt about the history of Cologne, or Koln as it is called in Germany. With a population of 1 million, it's the 4th biggest city in Germany (behind Berlin, Hamberg, Munich). The Romans established a settlement at this location on the Rhine about 2000 years ago and it has has continuous settlement ever ...

... wasn't too bad! The point of this story is while I was sitting there eating my soup and weird beer, I hear this siren that sounded like a bomb siren. The odd bit was that nobody even batted an eyelid. It kept going off for ages and still nobody seemed to notice it. So I'm still not sure what it was but I didn't get bombed. 3 fire trucks flew past a few minutes later I'm not sure if it was related lol. So it came time to leave Dusseldorf and head for Amsterdam. FINALLY I got my bag, got on the train and passed out. Suddenly I woke up and asked some Germans if this was the stop for DUSSELDORF.
