... and friends watch psychology lectures from Yale on a weekly basis. I considered making my students positive reinforcement (the good job stuff) and the negative punishment (the bad job stuff) shrouded in mystery. So I look for the sticky note pad to cover the behavioral psychology tools I'm using. This will allow the students to work to be the ...

There are lots of small shops and carts for shopping of everything from knock off purses to Nike and Addias franchise stores. We stopped in at this curious bar called Bungalow that has lots of little rooms, with low chairs and tables and sand on the floor. I guess they want you to feel like you are on a tropical ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. followmolly... I was done. For the medicinal purposes I didn’t feel energized and I couldn’t attest for the stamina part. Overall I thought it was a great experience but I am sure I will probably never try it again.

This was a pretty relaxed day. I had lunch with a friend of mine in Jamshil, but I really didn't care to do anything that evening. I was just so tired from teaching at Minjok!
All I decided to do was go to the nearest market and do a little shopping. And just walking around. My homestay's mom was talking to me in Korean...but I wasn't quite sure what she was saying. So, I got on my shoes and headed ...
Most of my time in Korea for this trip has been meeting up with former students and friends. And that was the same for today. I mainly just hung out at my homestay until I was supposed to go and meet up with a student to see the play "Jump".
I probably won't win the blogging prize (I'm kinda doing this for a contest :) ) because I'm so honest about my experiences in Korea - both good and bad. But, I gotta admit ...
... although clothed in "adventure, excitement and experience"). And I am starting to enter the oh-so-difficult stage of sitting with the discomfort. Feeling the urge and desire to pack up and head on to the next adventure, yet remaining still. I know many people may not be able to understand this and can't relate, but in Tonya's world this presents a TREMENDOUS challenge.
There are many good things about staying put for a year, right? I mean, I suppose I get to have a ...

I relinquished it, but did manage to give her the 3am Hairy Eyeball - are you kidding me??? look as I had to slump back to my aisle seat. I was glad to have seen what I had though and she had a ****** sleep anyway. Arrived In Seoul, tired and feeling like **** around 7:30 am. Got off the plane, ditched my day pack and figured out how to find the train into the city as I ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. everywhereMy first semester teaching English had absolutely raced by, and suddenly it was the last week - a chance to put the increasingly dull TOEFL test to one side, and have a bit of fun with the students who I'd grown fond of over the previous ten weeks. There's no doubt that Wednesday was everybody's favourite day throughout the first semester, as it involved the students giving their presentations. I always showed them a few random video clips as well, and we often discussed music ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. rich... Rainbow Fish in the play. Etta has tactfully split up the 20 or so of us from CIS so that we'll all be separated at different tables. I'm heading to Camp Red Cloud, the US base, in the morning with Megan and Coleton to set up for the wedding. It's the least I can do for a woman who has been so good to me. Etta will be a bit restless as like any bride, she'll want everything to be perfect. I'm sure it will be. I'll post some pics ...

While not as pronounced in Korea as in neighbouring Asian countries, keeping "face" is still a societal imperative. Because of this, the images in stories involving crime, politics and general commentary are heavily edited. In the West, of course, if someone is arrested, their appearance and identity are widely displayed by the media. Here, even convicted felons ...
