... the town, right across the roadk, there is a fabulous beach, "praia de Sao Torpes." There you weill find plenty parking suitable for motorhomes, and a fabulous restaurant overlooks the beach, where we stopped for lunch. It was the best value meal I'vge had on this trip- I had the plate of the day- a pork escalopes with fries for 5 euro. My daughter had a salmon and prawn kebab for 12.50, and it was worth every cent. Wanda, our eccentric hostess, suggested she showed us round Alcacer do Sal, as it was a "wonderful place to sit and drink something". So we set off about 9am. I'd planned to put Mum and Wanda in the back to talk to each other, and to have Mel in the front of the car. Wanda was having none of it. So I am now on my own in the van whilst the boys are all off fishing with the neighbours, Mike and Ken. I just hope they weren't after peaceful fishing!!

We really are in the middle of no-where here, it's great! There is nothing to do except walk or cycle around the barragem, fish in it or relax and read!! Just what we need after 5 days in the capital, no where to spend money!!! Especially with christmas looming ...
