... the small harbor. While the British occupied the island, they passed on their tradition of distilling juniper berries and to this day, Menorcan gin is prized.
After checking out the town square and walking around for a bit, we found a nice bar to get drinks in and tried the Menorcan gin. We returned to the boat for dinner and then hit the town again after dinner for more drinks and a place to hang out, people watch and relax.
Far de Favaritx is on the very northeast tip of the Menorca. There is a light house out on the very tip of cape and from the landscape it’s obvious that this area gets a lot of wind, heavy surf and storms.
We didn’t stop here or go ashore, but the weather was calm enough to take the helicopter up and get a scenic view of this part of the island. With the arid Mediterranean climate, the cliffs and the rocky coastline, it reminded me of parts of the California coast ...
... it was just me and the girls. Everyone was in a good mood this morning while we ate breakfast on the sun deck. The sun deck is the top deck and it had a great view of the harbor and town. Everyone just hung around and chatted this morning. It was nice.
We were departing at 1:00 PM so after breakfast I got a group to go with me to explore the town some more. We didn’t go anywhere in particular; we just ambled along the street greeting the locals and ...

Cala Millor, Spain maudreneeWe´ve spent the week excavating a trench! Even with an exclamation point it doesn´t sound too exciting. We dug down over a meter into rocky soil. After breaking up the soil, we had to ¨clean¨ it, which meant sifting through it for anything of importance. It seems like my main job was levering up and tossing out these stones that had been thrown in the trench when the camp was abandoned. We (ok, not me so much ...
Ciudadela, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands celliott76We had a very pleasant night sail with full moon and a beautiful smooth ocean. The wind came up a little the following day which meant a slight swell, but nothing uncomfortable. I found a nice little inlet with a very neat little holiday town tucked into the side of the inlet. We picked upa mooring buoy, had a beer and cooked dinner whilst watching a thunderstorm cracking over ...
Fornells, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands bellavita... of a hot spot for the English. The reason for this is readily apparent as the island has a terrain and color quite similar to England. It has rolling hills and is quite green for the Mediterranean. The reason for this (and for its less developed aspect) is that Menorca is the target of strong winds throughout the winter. However, the island is beautiful, and I am made to ...
Ciudadela, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands celliott76The beautiful holiday I ever had, despite the rainy weather and some jellyfishes when the weather was sunny. In Cala Ratjada there are a lot of beautiful beaches and a pretty "promenade" where you can find a lot of nice tapas bars if you want to eat something. Here you are some of my pictures... have fun.
