Crazy Lagos
... then we started running, hiding behind a wall from this scary juggler man. We were cracking up and pretending to be really scared about the juggler. We were heading back to the hostel- two of us were really ready to be home and the older sister and the guy from our hostel wanted to stay out. Us three girls ended up going home and he went to some house party with a bunch of Portuguese and Aussie locals. It was nearly 5 am- I was ready to be back.

Last Days Aboard Eclipse

Lagos itself was pretty dead this time of year but the scenery out along Ponta da Piedade was even wilder than usual with heavy surf crashing up against the eroding cliffs and natural grottoes. There were still crazy Portuguese fishermen standing on these precipices calmly smoking and casting long fishing rods at the churning brine close below. A lighthouse stood quietly at the southern extreme.
