Today was our last full day in Athens and of our trip, so sad - we don't want to go home yet. Starbucks coffee and muffins was the choice of breakfast today as we headed off to a hop on / hop off tour of Athens. ... The Acropolis Museum was only opened a few years ago and houses artefacts from the Acropolis. At the entrance you can see the ruins of an ancient Athenian neighbourhood uncovered during excavations. Inside the vast light-filled spaces there are magnificent view of the acropolis through ceiling to floor glass. Large sections of the floor are perspex/glass and you can look straight down through several floors to the excavated ruins below. to be continued.....

... smaller visits, I made my way up to the Acropolis where I ran into the different temples of various Greek gods and godesses including my favorite, the Temple of Athena along with the Parthenon. Coming out of there I made my way through the Odeum of Herodus Atticus and the Theatre of Dionysus. Most of these were in pretty close proximity of each other and were fairly easy to find.
