... than typical mescal which is 50% alcohol and rougher in the throat than tequila.

The three types of tequila are:

Blanco or Silver which is totally clear and less than 2 months old.
Reposada which is aged from 2 months to 1 year in oak barrels, either American or French, which can affect the taste.
Anejo which is aged up to 2 years in oak and has more of a whisky nose and taste.

8. Living at a higher altitude apparently extends a person's life so that they live longer.
Previously, in a previous travelblog, I have mentioned that at a free lunch for the old, elderly poor, that there is 4 or 5 tables filled with people (all women) that are 95+ in age..

Gobble, Gobble! It is my first Thanksgiving holiday outside of the country. Poor Greg has been on "night call" all week at Baptist; it is his holiday to work this year. We miss him! He is celebrating with his parents, Andrew, Beth and their kids this afternoon.

Quite a few Americans live down here and celebrate Thanksgiving in San Miguel. In fact, a handful of restaurants offer Thanksgiving meals today. There are also many catering services. Katie, Caroline, ...

Katie's sixth grade class presented a radio show (a complement to their recent field trip to a local radio station). Caroline's class did a medical presentation on the different systems of the body (and the parents had to wear surgical masks). All the kids were so proud to have their parents at school to see their group work.
