... good Muslims that they are, will never give up, always trying to regain turf that they've been forced to cede over to modern antiseptic societies. They probably will. It's just a paradigm shift. In their world view we work for them, giving them shelter and transportation in return for some time on Earth. At least we can understand bacteria; they're like us. Viruses are another story. They're like another dimension, DNA in a condom and nothing ...

... about Montego Bay; it's been surpassed by upstart cousins Negril and Ocho Rios and their $500/nt resorts. So I got lucky here, less than $50/nt and wi-fi coming in my window from next door. But now I have other health issues also, which I won't go into at any depth. Suffice it to say don't despair if you get an attack of hemorrhoids at the beach. Jump right in; the salt water works wonders. Who needs Epsom salts? So I spend my last ten ...

MONTEGO BAY: FRIENDLY NATIVES AND SOUL FOOD

... t been to, but I doubt I'll like it. You can sense those things. If there's one thing I hate worse than the choking air of dirty degenerate cities it's the rarefied air of pristine pretentious resort areas. There's got to be a balance. So MoBay 'proper' is okay, funky and frenetic, kinda' like Jackson's Farish Street up until the eighties (all that's changed now), kinda' like Port-au-Prince, or Dakar almost spitting images. How is that ...

... arranged a private van with driver and guide for a negotiated per person amount. Just before returning to the ship, the guide told us that we had misunderstood the agreement and the actual charge was three times the negotiated amount. Rather than fight, we agreed to pay twice the original cost. Jamaica is a dirty, squalid place, obviously with ripoff artists. Don't waste your time visiting. We did not see a single area here we would feel comfortable wandering around on our own.

LIFE'S BEST EXPERIENCES AWAIT YOU!

... unfair since the Internet is most people's main way of staying in touch with family and friends back home - and even budget hotels often offer it for free. The resort Spa is an Elemis spa, a short 5 minute walk from the main area. Weddings are normally held on the lawn and terrace of the spa. You can also elect to rent out a spa room for the day (air conditioned spa room I might add) and enjoy the comforts of getting reading in a cool, relaxing ...

Montego Bay (Part 1 of the Holidays)

... we could drink this like water...A few more rounds of that, we were ready to chill nearby the pool where they had reggae dancing going on between the staff and the hotel guests...it was pretty amusing.. Couple of hours after that and about 9 rounds of JD after (i blame it on Karen and the cabana boy who has now gotten it down to a nod and off he goes carrying our next round), we decided to check on our friend Syntra who was arriving from Trinidad. We found her strutting ...

'Jamaican' me feel like travelling again....

... It is worth pointing out that it is in the realm of the excursions where I felt Jamaica came into its own, and there is a blisteringly great range of tourist activities which I felt fully exploited all of what the island had to offer. These excursions include the obvious climb up Dunn's River falls, to rafting on the Martha Brae, and a day trip to the glorious beaches of Negril, and a stop at Rick's cafe, where cocktails, cliff ...

Jamaica Man!

I have had a blast here in Jamaica! It has been so so wonderful! I was able to swim with Dolphins (see pics attached) and Andy, michelle and baby Shaan have taken such good care of me! Been going out every night ( I am pooped haven't partied this much in a year!) I have also managed to get back to my practice which is fantastic, so hopefully I ...
