    Het is vroeg, 3 uur om precies te zijn. Voordeel is dat we aan het begin van de dag vliegen. Dat leek althans zo, maar helaas, het vliegtuig had een deukje. Nieuw vliegtuig, alles overladen en 45 minuten vertraging. Valt nog mee. We komen rond 11 uur aan op Accerife. Het is daar een uur vroeger, dus we zitten nog ruim in de ochtend. Eerst maar eens …

    I decided a night in Puerto del Rosario might be good for a change of scene and I had an early flight in the morning. I probably should have listened more to what I'd been told, it's more industrial and not so enjoyable. Still it was a transit stop that helped me get to the airport in plenty of time, the bus being much more efficient than I'd expected.

    Landing at the airport I quickly found that they only had one ATM and it was out of order and there was nowhere to exchange cash. So rather than getting the bus I was lumped with a taxi.

    It was a small bump in what was a chilled five days in the little town of Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. It's a kiteboarding and surfing paradise so not quite my cup of tea but I really enjoyed the laid back vibe ...

    Sunday 8th June

    Feliz Cumpleaņos a mi and its a warm 28 degree day! Nursing a sangria hangover we have a delicious cooked breakfast before jumping on the 9am bus from Playa Bastian to the inland Teguise markets - the oldest in Lanzarote. Here we find 100's of stalls selling everything from toe rings and cactus muffins to 'genuine' fake handbags. After half an hour we've seen most of it but have another 2.5 ...
