Lets go to Beach Park, Fortaleza

Me and Lisseth went to Beach Park today! Its a water park outside of fortaleza, like those in the United States, it was great!! We had alot of fun. It was her first time in a park like this. This is the only one in South America of this size. Wave pools, water rides, the works!! Brazil is very impressive, very developed, great infrastructure and alternatives to travel to other cities, which is important to me.

Check out the picks!

Its in the 80's here everyday, so no worries just enjoy the sun and fun.

Beleza

... of. the guy grows everything; corn, beans, fruits, veggies, you name it. and on top of that, a very postive energy and always happy. lastnight he invited us to his house for dinner, and everything we ate lastnight was from his yard. and it was a full dinner too, big plate, dessert, and even tea. his whole family was there, and they were so happy to cook us food, and make us laugh. i really felt at home there, and it felt so incredible to eat this food which this ...

finally hit ocean!

... and each night was amazing. right next to the town there is a massive dune, and at sunset time every one in the town, literally everyone, climbs up the dune to catch the sunset. all the stores, markets, restaurants, everything closes for the sunset and heads to the dune. and then at night you go get some food, and later on head to the main street to drink every kind of caipirinha you can imagine.

i left Jeri and head to Jijoca because thats were all the buses head out ...

We Arrived!

... is the first time that I have had to solely rely on the language.

Right now, I'm taking a moment while Terri and the rest of the family went to visit someone and I am updating this blog and watching a novela with Mom and Dad.

We are about to go to the beach and later go to a bar to do some foho (dancing)!

Until I can write again, have a good night and thanks for all of your good wishes. More photos to come.

Sand surfing fun

... roads, the only way vehicles that could get around were either 4wds or small `buggy`type cars that they also used for tours around the sands dunes which surrounded the town and local area. As we stopped on the bus, in the town snad square we were met by people talking to us in Hebrew thinking we were Israeli, trying to get us to go to there particular hostel, after a few moments of looking blank the pitch was down in English and we were ...

Paradise Found: Jericoacoara

... plop plop of hooves on sand. On our way back, the horses were hungry so galloped so fast Jen (laughing hysterically) thought she was going to pop right off her horse. We had a lot of fun, so much fun Jeff didn't realize the stirrups had carved big holes in his shins until we got off! The guidebook says that Jeri has lost its small fishing village status but its charm still casts a spell on travelers. We agree. There is something magical about this far flung ...

Day 219 - Jericoacoara

We tried sleeping with the air con last night (which costs an extra 5 Reals!) and slept much better than the night before, despite Katie picking up a few more bites to add to her impressive collection of mosquito art!

It had rained all night and was still raining when we peered outside, so ...

Day 217 - Fortaleza to Jericoacoara

... they were, the more we ignored them!

After seven months travelling we've developed the knack of just taking our time, strapping on our backpacks and ignoring anyone who thrusts anything in our face while we do so.

Anyone that waits for us to get ready will get our attention.

Waiting for the wind

... limited progress as the wind isnīt strong enough for a big man like myself. We have met a whole range of kiters here, from various European countries, we can now talk kite surfing with the best of them. By the evenings, Cat is so bored of my conversation that she will yap to anyone.... I turn my back and she is off chatting with some local Portuguese fisherman, I donīt even think they could understand each other ...
